Children’s Area

Green Gathering 2011 –  Kid’s Area

Come and have a fantastic time with us in our fun, creative, energetic kids area!

We’ll be open from 10am -7pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, running a full programme of fun, games, activities & workshops to delight & entertain families.

All for free!

(Please remember that the kids’ area is not a crèche and children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.)

We’ll have a Dressing-Up & Face Painting Area, where kids can spend time trying out different costumes & outfits, transforming themselves into characters from stories & imagination, or just having fun. Our fabulous face-painters will be on hand to conjure up magical faces, & there’ll be sessions for tattoos & nails – all using hypoallergenic, water-based paints.

Art & Craft workshops, running throughout the day, will be using lots of recycled & natural materials and have an environmental theme. From scrap art, tiaras & crowns, dream-catchers, lavender bags, finger-knitting, to junk- modelling, recycled musical instruments, masks, & recycled puppets, there’ll be something to inspire everyone. In our Circus Skills Workshops, kids can develop their talents learning to juggle, spin plates & poi, & throw diabolo.

We’ll also be creating things for our parade so that families can all dress up together & dance a noisy, colourful, winding dance, around & about…… celebrating!

For a quieter time, kids can chill out in the Colouring Area, listen to stories, or work on our Giant Mega Doodle.

Little ones will have their own Toddler Tent with rugs, cushions and lots of books to relax with. Throughout the day we’ll have various toddler activities including music & song time, sticking time (!), & sand & water play.  Mothers & babies will have a beautiful Baby Change Tent with mats & mobiles for comfortable changing.

Also watch out for giant bubbles, hula hoops, parachute games, wish–fairies, and other delights!

The Green Gathering 2011 will be a family, camping event, for approximately 5,000 people for a period of 4 days.

This year the event will be held at a traditional farming estate in West Berkshire, from July 28th to July 31st.

The Green Gathering 2011 will be part of a long tradition of Green Gathering events over the last 20 years, which have an established brand presence in the events calendar with a support base of participants and customers drawn largely from the environmental and emerging Transition communities
